We had an incredible Easter weekend. So much fun and super tired little girls made for easy bedtimes during the weekend!
We started off with a little Easter Egg dyeing on Wed evening.
Saturday morning we went to a great local Easter Egg hunt. It was really well organized with lots of eggs and not too many people. The girls both had a blast!

She looks so grown-up to me in this picture! |
She did not want to pose in front of the flowers (can you tell by her expression?). This was my idea. |
This is a child who does what she wants. She decided she wanted to pose with all the bunnies - and happily did so! :) |
Matching sisters! |
She's still learning strategy for the big hunt....she insisted on opening every single egg before putting them in her basket. She was super happy with the few she did get! |
Madeline, on the other hand, totally understood strategy this year and chose to "hunt" on the side with the least amount of kids. |
From the number of eggs in that basket, I'd say it was a pretty successful strategy, considering she was the youngest of the kids in her age group! |
In the afternoon we went to an egg scavenger hunt at one of the local shopping malls. The girls had a map and each store the went to had a special treat for them.
One of the stores had fancy birds as the prize. Madeline displaying hers on her head. She named her bird "Cutie. Olivia cleverly named hers "Parking Lot." And, yes, these names have stuck! |
Even Sneaky ended up with a special doggie Chick cookie! |
Olivia blowing her bubbles that she received for completing the scavenger hunt. I wished I could have caught her expression after she blew the bubbles. She kept blowing them and exclaiming, "I can do it now!" Big girl!! |
We rounded out Saturday evening with a nice dinner overlooking the ocean at the golf course. Madeline poses for a quick shot. |
Easter morning brought some excitement when they discovered that the Easter bunny did indeed visit our house. There had been a lot of discussion leading up to the morning surrounding whether or not the Easter bunny was a boy or a girl. We learned that it remains a secret, although Madeline has many hypotheses surrounding this issue!

Look there's treats inside these eggs, too! |
Do you think he (or she) left any eggs in the playhouse? |
What's inside? |
"My basket is so heavy" Her words exactly! |

Beautiful Easter sisters! |
Yes, she did eat chocolate for breakfast! |
A special gift from Grandma and Grandpa. |
We followed up the fun Easter bunny activities with a trip to the House of Blues for the Gospel Brunch and had a blast. The music was great, the food was tasty, the kids behaved and it was a great way to round out the weekend!
The girls were super silly on the way back to the car... Love these two little kiddos!!
Happy Easter!
