The rodeo is in town and Mike and Irma were kind enough to give us their tickets to enjoy the festivities on Friday evening. Unfortunately the weather was horrendous, with cold temperatures and downpours all evening, so after dashing through the rain, we were relegated inside for the evening. We had a great time, despite being drenced, and were able to enjoy seeing the animals, the rodeo and a few Reba songs before Madeline said she was ready to go home.
We were amazed with how much she has changed in the past year. Last year, we tried to ride the ponies in a similar venue and she got super scared and cried before we could even get her on the pony. This year, she saw them and without prompting, exclaimed 'I want to ride the horseys!" Brian and I were a bit hesitant to let her go, but she ensured us she could ride them alone and didn't need us to help. So....we trusted her and let her give it a shot....

And, just like she said...she didn't need mommy or daddy and was such a big girl. She had a big grin on her face the entire time and was so proud of herself!

Twinkie managed to earn some pets |

and Madeline managed to wave to the crowd. It was quite a ride! |
Next stop was the petting zoo where she loved chasing all the animals, attempting to feed them and hugging any that would sit still long enough for her to wrap her arms around them.
All in all it was a great evening and we dried off just in time to make the trek back to the car!
